LOS ANGELES – Following Justice Anthony M. Kennedy’s announcement that he will retire from the Supreme Court in July, U.S. Senate candidate Kevin de León released the following statement:
“In 2016, Senator Feinstein and other D.C. Democratic leaders effectively surrendered the judicial branch of our government, and decades of hard-won progress along with it. They should have pushed back on Senator Mitch McConnell when they had the chance, and now we may all pay a heavy price for their failure to do so.
"Californians deserve a fighter in the U.S. Senate, and I will fight as hard for progressive values as conservatives fight for theirs. I call on all Senate Democrats to vocally reject any and all consideration of this President’s Supreme Court nominees."
Just ahead of the June 5th primary, U.S. Senate candidate Kevin de León released the video “Our Resistance”. To watch the video, click here or on the screenshot below.

Through his ambitious approach to policymaking, Senator de León has authored groundbreaking legislation on a variety of issues that have become national models. De León served four years in the California State Assembly before his election to the State Senate in 2010.
