LOS ANGELES – U.S. Senate Candidate Kevin de León will travel to PPIC’s Bechtel Auditorium in San Francisco, where he will join Sen. Dianne Feinstein and PPIC President and CEO Mark Baldassare to discuss the issues that everyday Californians face. On the President pro Tempore Emeritus’ preparation for the candidates’ first meeting, the campaign’s Communications Director Jonathan Underland said this:
“California’s senior senator hasn’t met with an opponent on stage for a conversation - or a debate - in nearly two decades. We can’t help but marvel at the historic nature of Wednesday’s summit, but we’re more excited about using the opportunity to show California voters the stark contrast between Senator de León and Senator Feinstein’s positions on the issues that matter most to the residents of this great state.”
Due to the timing of the event – lunchtime on a Wednesday – many working families and students will be unable to tune in. Therefore, Senator de León’s guests will include California members and leadership of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters, Service Employees International Union, Laborers International Union, the International Longshore and Warehouse Union, and students from UC Berkeley and other Bay Area institutions.
