LOS ANGELES, CA – California Environmental Justice Alliance Action announced their endorsement of U.S. Senate candidate Kevin de León today.

"CEJA Action is proud to endorse Kevin de León for U.S. Senate,” said Gladys Limón, Executive Director, California Environmental Justice Alliance Action.  “Through de León’s tenure as Senate pro Tempore and in the Assembly representing the 45th district, de León has established himself as a champion on environmental justice and immigration issues. He has exhibited bold leadership on clean energy and clean energy jobs, ushered necessary resources to benefit disadvantaged communities, and has fought against the criminalization of immigrants. If there is ever a time to champion environmental protection, environmental justice, and defend communities of color at the federal level, the time is now."

"I’m deeply grateful to receive the support of California Environmental Justice Alliance Action,” said Kevin de León.  “For too long our most disadvantaged communities have borne the brunt of the most devastating effects of climate change and pollution.  All Californians deserve a representative in Washington, D.C. who will fight every day for their right to breathe clean air into their lungs and drink clean water.  That’s why I’m looking forward to working with CEJA Action to make sure that our climate and environmental policies benefit communities in every corner of our great state.”

California Senate Leader Kevin de León has been a champion of climate and environmental justice policies in the state legislature.  By prioritizing communities most disproportionately impacted by the effects of climate change, de León made sure that every Californian would benefit from the state’s historic push for a clean energy economy.
