Los Angeles, CA – The International Longshore and Warehouse Union (ILWU) Local 13, representing the longshore and warehouse workers of the Port of Los Angeles, announced their endorsement of Kevin de León's bid for Los Angeles City Council District 14.
"For well over a decade, Kevin de León has been an unwavering voice of advocacy for the working people of Los Angeles,” said Mark Jurisic, President of ILWU Local 13. "His leadership at the state level brought us a statewide $15 minimum wage, accessible retirement security for all Californians, and a crack down on wage theft, to name just a few of his victories for our working families. Council District 14 deserves a champion who will passionately advocate for their needs in City Hall. That is why ILWU Local 13 is honored to endorse Kevin de León for City Council."
“The members of ILWU Local 13 are the backbone of our city's bustling port,” said de León. "I am honored by their endorsement and faith they've placed in me to fight for the working families of Council District 14."
